Cylindrical Roller BearingĀ

Cylindrical Roller Bearings have a single or multiple row rolling element set based on cylindrical rollers. In contrast to the ball, the roller has a larger contact area perpendicular to the roller axis. As a result, it can transmit higher forces, has greater rigidity and allows smaller rolling element diameters under the same load.

Depending on the design of the ribs on the bearing rings:

  • axial forces can be supported in one or both directions
  • axial displacements of the shaft relative to the housing are compensated without constraint in the bearing (in bearings with a semi-locating or non-locating bearing function)
  • the bearings can be separated for easier mounting.

Cylindrical Roller Bearings are available in various designs, the characteristics of which are optimized for different applications depending on the structure of the bearings: The bearings are available in a single or double row design, with different combinations of ribs on the inner and outer ring, a full complement cylindrical roller set and with various cage designs.

Axial-Angular Contact Roller Bearings

Axial tapered roller bearings can support very high axial forces and have high rigidity.

Single direction axial tapered roller bearingsSingle direction axial tapered roller bearings can support axial forces in one direction. They comprise a shaft locating washer and a housing locating washer, into which tapered raceways are machined, and a cage with tapered rollers.

The bearings can be dismantled. The bearing washers and the cage with the roller set can be fitted separately.

A typical application for these axial tapered roller bearings is in flush heads for drilling rigs.

Double direction axial tapered roller bearingsDouble direction axial tapered roller bearings can support high axial forces in both directions. They have a flat shaft locating washer and two housing locating washers. Tapered raceways are machined into the housing locating washers. A spacer ring between the housing locating washers guides the two cages with tapered rollers and sets the axial internal clearance.

The bearings can be dismantled. The bearing washers and the cages with rollers can be fitted separately.

The bearings are used, for example, in blooming stands and section rolling stands.

Axial tapered roller bearings for screw-down mechanismsThese single direction axial tapered roller bearings are special bearings for screw-down mechanisms on rolling stands. Due to their low friction, these bearings reduce the screw-down forces of the mechanisms.

Cylindrical Roller Bearing Double Row

Cylindrical roller bearings have a single or multiple row rolling element set based on cylindrical rollers. In contrast to the ball, the roller has a larger contact area perpendicular to the roller axis. As a result, it can transmit higher forces, has greater rigidity and allows smaller rolling element diameters under the same load.
